- 2013 Career Fair
- Thursday, February 7, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Chamber of Commerce representing Johnson City/Jonesborough/Washington County along with The Mall at Johnson City, Washington County Economic Development Council and the Johnson City Economic Summit will host a Career Fair on February 7th, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
“The fair is designed to enable regional employers and postsecondary training providers (colleges, universities, apprenticeship programs and the military) to provide information regarding staffing patterns, job demand, employer requirements, postsecondary program availability and military opportunities to middle school and high school students.”, stated Tembra Aldridge, Manager, The Mall at Johnson City.
The Career Fair will not only be for high school and college students, but also the community. The annual career fair has been collaboratively developed to establish a single point of contact among regional employers, postsecondary institutions and other training providers and the Tri-Cities emerging workforce. Dr. Larry Calhoun, 2013 Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors said, “The desired results of the fair are youth who are informed of job skills and employment requirements and preparatory opportunities available to them before and after they graduated from high school. Involving employers, postsecondary training providers and service organizations in the preparation of our youth for future employment helps to ensure our region’s economic growth and stability.”
